Our Philosophy

SCIENCE AND INNOVATION

DGEGroup seeks to establish strategic partnerships with Ministries of Defence and the Armed Forces because national security and national development are not separate objectives—they are mutually reinforcing priorities.

Our approach is to demonstrate that a portion of resources traditionally allocated to defence procurement can, where appropriate, also contribute to the creation of permanent national industrial capacity, employment, skills, and economic development.

DGEGroup therefore proposes a development model in which the Armed Forces can become active participants in selected industrial and construction programs, particularly where military engineering capabilities, training infrastructure, logistics, and organizational capacity can contribute to national development.

Our plan is to partner with the military forces for national housing programs. It involves training recruits during military service with construction of military structures like armouries, depots, hangars, and housing for officers and family, Upon military discharge a selected trained labour force for the building industry, can also be involved in national housing projects. Presently, in many African countries housing deficit is in the millions, a number aggravated by the demographic growth in the thousands of urban and rural areas, and lack of construction skills.

The scale of the opportunity becomes even more significant when applied to national housing programs, as construction of one house generally involves 3 men working one year.  Addressing a housing deficit of one million homes is not simply a matter of constructing one million houses. It represents a potential three-million-job economic opportunity. To this number one has to add employment generated based on innovative manufacturing facilities of construction materials and components, transportation, engineering, and related sanitary services, such as potable, wastewater in addition to green PV energy installations.

An important element of this vision is the creation of cooperative structures involving ex-military personnel and other participating stakeholders, allowing those involved to contribute not only their labour and expertise but also to share in the economic benefits generated by the enterprises they help establish.

The Mondragon cooperative model provides an important international reference for this concept: a system in which workers are not merely employees, but active participants in productive enterprises and their long-term development.

DGEGroup's objective is therefore not simply to introduce innovative technology or construct individual projects. Our objective is to help establish a sustainable national industrial ecosystem that remains in the country, develops local expertise, creates employment, and continues to produce economic and social value long after the initial project has been completed.

This is the essence of DGEGroup's Science and Innovation approach: transforming engineering knowledge, industrial technology, and strategic partnerships into national productive capacity, employment, housing, energy security, and long-term economic development.

By way of illustration, the cost of acquiring a single modern main battle tank, such as a Leopard 2A8, could potentially represent an investment of comparable scale to establishing several strategically important industrial facilities for construction components, building panels, and renewable-energy technologies. Unlike a conventional procurement expenditure, these facilities can create a lasting productive asset that continues to generate employment, skills, tax revenues, technology transfer, and economic value for many years.
